Trish, Cody and I arrived at the scene of your accident. Cody knelt down to help you, and saw across the way your beautiful little boy. He rescued your little boy and brought him to my arms, and went back to your side. Cody did all that he could, he tried everything to save you. I couldn't let your precious baby boy be by himself, I know you were there watching over his every move, but I wanted him to have a familiar face to turn too. So we followed him to the hospital and stayed in his room with him. I know we didn't know you both, but we couldn't and wouldn't leave his side until family could be reached. I would have stayed over night, I would have stayed day by day, until I knew he would be ok and be with family that needed him oh so much. You have such a beautiful family and such a courageous son. He is so full of love and happiness, that you and Mike have instilled in him. We don't consider ourselves hero's, we just did what was right. If it were me and not you, I'd give anything for that chance, I would want somebody to do the same. I want you to know that your family is something not many people have, you are such a tight knit sea of love, that I envy, you will never, EVER, be forgotten. We have never met you, we wish that we would have had that chance so much, but we feel that your smile, your energy, your love will forever be carried on in those many lives you have touched. You are such a genuine, true person, and we see that through your husband and your son. You have become such a huge part of our life in such a short amount of time. I'm so thankful for the genuine and deep kindness that Trish shared with Neal during the time he lived with you...she was even motherly to him :-) He often told us how she would sit with him for hours, make wonderful meals, and fill a void he surely must felt without any family around. Dear Ones, and there are so many who now are needing to be encouraged right now, know that your pain and loss is different than our experience in having to say good by to someone who is so special that you just don't think that you can live another minute, but that your needs and pain will all be filled by the supernatural power of our loving God. To have had Trish live next door to us was such a blessing. When she moved into our lives we had said good by to our precious daughter, Joanie. In so many ways Trish helped to fill our hearts with joy and give us the power to laugh once again. Always, always, Trish would think of what she could do for us to make our lives more bearable. So unselfish for she would cook delicious meals for us and come over with the food with such joy for being able to do something that seemed so small but meant SO much to us. We really didn't care if we ate or not but when Trish brought over a meal we would eat it and be so thankful that someone was not only saying that they would pray for us but put to action her love for us in something practical...eating. We would love it when she would take time out of her life and visit and bring Gauge with her and fill the whole house with love and laughter. Her free spirit and her ability to be so transparent and honest made us feel accepted and loved. What great talks we would have over a cup of coffee or a coke. How she loved...so deep and so pure. Just thinking about her brings so many wonderful memories. Well now, the truth...she is getting to know our Joanie...sooner than we would have wanted...much too soon. We told her over and over again that she would have been close friends with Joan and now she knows that what we said was true. The only good thing in all the mess of this world is to know that there is life eternal and that Jesus has taken care of EVERYTHING for us. This is not the end...only the beginning of knowing the deep love of our Father God....only the beginning.

As I walked past your yard here in Evans today, tears welled up inside as I looked at all the hard work you and Trish put into the yard, the trees are so big and beautiful, the flowers that Trish planted and the bushes all look so nice, and all the hard work you both put into the rock edging are all still there to remind us of both of you.
